i just recently finished watching Fruits Basket, and it was by far one of the rare animes that made me cry, and feel each and every emotion possible. the characters were all very well written, lovable each in their own ways, plus they had amazing backstories, in my opinion.

i would love it if anyone recommended similar anime with greatly written characters. it doesn’t have to be the same genre as Fruits Basket, as long as the story and characters are well written and complex.

A lot of anime that come from VNs tend to have decently written characters, I'd say look into Steins;Gate or Angel Beats for example

Steins was a tough watch, but worth it in the end!

I would say Gintama, loved it
It's really funny, the story might be a little slow and weird but it's definitely worth.
